What is an Apostille?
An apostille is a certification that verifies the authenticity of a document for international use. It is required under the Hague Apostille Convention to ensure that documents issued in one country are recognized as valid in another.
The Florida Secretary of State’s Division of Corporations (Florida Department of State) is the only agency authorized to issue apostilles in Florida.
Tally Notary and Apostille Courier Services is located in Tallahassee, FL and will hand deliver your documents to the Florida Department of State for apostille certification.
Some Common Documents that need an Apostille

Some reasons you may need an Apostille:
International Adoption- When you're adopting a child from another county, an apostille on documents such as birth certificates and adoption papers will ensure that they are recognized abroad.
Education Abroad- Interested in studying or working overseas? Your diplomas and transcripts might need an apostille to be accepted by foreign universities or employers.
Business Documents- Expanding your business internationally? Corporate documents like articles of incorporation, powers of attorney, and commercial contracts often need an apostille.
Marriage Abroad- Planning to tie the knot in a foreign country? An Apostille request for a single status affidavit, and/or a divorce decree, will likely be needed to be legally accepted in that country. Additionally, the receiving country may ask for an apostille of a birth certificate.
Estate and Probate Matters Abroad- Dealing with inheritance issues across borders? An apostille document may be required for legal documents such as wills, death certificates, and probate orders.
Real Estate Transactions Abroad- Buying or selling property internationally? Specific documents may need an apostille to be legally binding.
Employment Opportunity- Considering international employment? You will need to have certain documents apostilled. Some of the documents that may require an apostille by an employer in another country are: FBI background checks, birth certificates, degree documents, and your diploma.
